Puerarin is also known as puerarin flavone. It is an isoflavone derivative with crown-expanding effect, isolated from the traditional Chinese medicine Pueraria lobata. 8-β-D-glucopyranose-4', 7 dihydroxyisoflavone is isolated from the dried root of the leguminous plant Pueraria lobata. Puerarin is white to slightly yellow crystalline powder, soluble in methanol, slightly soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in water, insoluble in chloroform or ether. China is the distribution center of Pueraria plants, among which Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, Hunan, Guizhou and other places are the most widely distributed. Pueraria is a vine, about 10cm long, the whole plant is covered with yellow-brown long bristles, the racemes are axillary, and the flowers are dense; the flowering period is from May to September, and the fruiting period is from August to October. There are as many as 13 kinds of isoflavones rich in kudzu root, which have a very good regulating effect on the human body. The specification of puerarin is 10%-40% puerarin.
