1. Description of Nettle Extract

Nettle Extract is the dried whole herbs extract of Urtica cannabinaa L. It is yellow-brown free flowing powder with characteristic odor and taste. Widely used in pharmaceutical, health care products, dietary supplements fields. 

Nettle is a perennial herb that grows up to 100 cm tall; Achenes suborbicular, surface with maroon fine warts; Flowering in August - October and fruit in September - November. It grows in Anhui, Fujian, Guangxi, Hubei, Shaanxi, Gansu and Sichuan provinces of China. It is also found in northern Vietnam. It grows at an altitude of about 100 meters or 500-2000 meters on the hillside, roadside or near houses in semi-shady wet places. Nettle contains ascorbic acid, acetylcholine, urticin, β-sitosterol and so on. Whole grass contains a variety of vitamins and tannins. Stem bark mainly contains formic acid, butyric acid and stimulating acid substances. It can treat rheumatoid arthritis and its pain. Nettles are also edible. In Europe, nettles (plants and leaves) are included as a natural source of food flavorings, used in soups and herbal teas.
